ABOUT ME
Why the Intrepid Weaver, you may ask?
Well, I am a full-time New Zealand Flax Weaver (if you like to know more, you can check out my website here ), but I also love travelling, history, archaeology, nature, hiking and above all, photography.
So my friends started to call me "The Intrepid Weaver", and the name stuck.
A little about me and my journey so far:
I grew up in Eastern Germany when it was still the GDR, and even though we could not travel as freely as we would have liked, my grandparents and parents loved to take us, kids, on car journeys and hikes in the nearby mountains at every opportunity. My parents had an old Practica Camera with manual controls, and for as long as I can remember, my mum has been taking photographs. My grandfather loved teaching me the camera settings and composition rules.
Fast forward a few decades, and I find myself living in New Zealand but travelling (when Corona permits) within the country but also back to Europe, and the camera is always in the luggage, of course.
These days it is a Nikon D750 and a number of both Nikon and Tamron Lenses, but the principle is still the same; I love taking photos and sharing them with friends and family and a wider audience.
So when some friends and followers on Instagram and Facebook asked if I would consider selling some of my photos, I did some research and decided that the well known and respected company Queensberry would be the perfect partner for this new endeavour on my photography journey.
Thank you for stopping by, and if you do feel like purchasing one of my photographs, be assured that it will be of the highest quality and is also a piece of myself and my life.
