Planning the big Europe Trip – with challenges

So here I am – less than two weeks out from my big trip to Europe – 3 months away from lovely New Zealand and Russell and most importantly from husband (Geoff) and cat (Charlie).

This is going to be a bit of a challenge I know – I am planning to visit as many museums as I can that hold taonga maori in their vaults – so getting appointments and hints of where to look has been my first challenge – getting the time the second.

So far I have been in touch (and got appointments) from 4 museums – the British Museum in London, Volkerkunde Museum in Hamburg and my home town Dresden (Saxony) and the Ethnologisches Museum in Berlin (my first stop).

Also in the planning has been the one week and a bit as a volunteer with DigVentures and their upcoming dig at Leiston Abbey

So I’ll be doing that from the 7th of July for a week – and frankly I can’t wait.

There will be much to write about that might or might not interest some people – so if you want to stick around and continue reading – dear friend – thank you you make it all worth while!

Thanks for the invite and looking forward to hearing more. Hope you have leisurely and good food, relaxing time with family and friends, good weather and heaps of great museum explorations. You were missed at Whaingaroa, and no doubt up north as well! Arohanui, Janie
